Hi, I’m Anwar.
An ad creative who’s always thinking up left-field ideas before saying the right things to the right people, at the right place and time.
My love for advertising started as a kid when I would always look forward to catching commercials in between my favourite TV shows – think TVCs for IKEA with Chua En Lai, Anything & Whatever canned drinks, and Republic of Singapore Navy. Years later, it only made sense that I decided to major in advertising.
Today, I’m thankful to be in this wildly entertaining industry, with odd career highlights that include stealing a Sheng Siong shopping cart to film for a Young Lions entry (which would eventually land me in Cannes to represent Singapore), channeling Victorian-era colloquialism in writing as Stamford Raffles for almost a year, and convincing a client to buy a TVC idea they never asked for.
Throughout my 9-year journey, I’ve been lucky enough to have had the opportunity to produce creative and effective work across various platforms for a diverse list of clients such as PUB, MCCY, Red Bull, Lipton, MOH, Jewel Changi Airport, and Volkswagen.
When I’m not knee-deep in creative briefs, I enjoy spending my time curating sunsets at beach clubs and building up dancefloors as a DJ. Currently a writer for hire, so hit me up if you’d like to have a chat!
